เมื่อวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 12 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 เวลา 11.00–12.00 น. ณ มหาวิทยาลัยวลัยลักษณ์ ผู้แทนจากธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย (ธปท.) เข้าพบผู้บริหารมหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อหารือแนวทางความร่วมมือในการขับเคลื่อนแผนกลยุทธ์ Consumer Protection & Empowerment พ.ศ. 2567–2569 โดยมีเป้าหมายสำคัญในการส่งเสริมให้คนไทยมีความเป็นอยู่ทางการเงินที่ดี (Financial Well-being) ตลอดช่วงชีวิต และยกระดับมาตรฐานการให้บริการทางการเงินอย่างเป็นธรรม ภายใต้แผนกลยุทธ์ดังกล่าว ธปท. ได้ผลักดันการบรรจุวิชา Financial Literacy เป็นวิชาภาคบังคับในระดับประถมศึกษาและมัธยมศึกษา รวมถึงกำหนดให้เป็นรายวิชาศึกษาทั่วไป (General Education: GenEd) ในระดับอุดมศึกษา ตลอดจนมุ่งพัฒนาบุคลากรครู ทั้งครูจบใหม่และครูประจำการ ให้มีศักยภาพในการถ่ายทอดความรู้ทางการเงิน และพัฒนาบุคลากรที่มีทักษะในการให้คำปรึกษาด้านการแก้ไขปัญหาหนี้แก่ประชาชนในชุมชนอย่างมีคุณภาพ ธปท. เล็งเห็นว่า มหาวิทยาลัยวลัยลักษณ์เป็นสถาบันอุดมศึกษาที่มีศักยภาพในการร่วมขับเคลื่อนงานส่งเสริมความรู้ทางการเงินในหลายมิติ ทั้งการพัฒนาทักษะทางการเงินแก่นักศึกษา การบูรณาการองค์ความรู้ด้านการเงินในหลักสูตรศึกษาทั่วไป การพัฒนาครู และการสร้างบุคลากรที่สามารถให้คำปรึกษาเรื่องการแก้หนี้ในระดับชุมชน อันจะนำไปสู่การสร้าง Financial Well-being และการแก้ไขปัญหาหนี้ครัวเรือนได้อย่างยั่งยืนในอนาคต ในการนี้ สำนักวิชาการบัญชีและการเงิน เข้าร่วมการหารือ นำโดยคณบดีสำนักวิชาการบัญชีและการเงิน พร้อมด้วยคณบดีสำนักวิชาพหุภาษาและการศึกษาทั่วไป

สำนักวิชาการบัญชีและการเงิน มหาวิทยาลัยวลัยลักษณ์ นำโดยผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สมใจ หนูผึ้งหัวหน้าสถานวิจัย และหัวหน้าโครงการศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ (Feasibility Study)ได้ร่วมดำเนินงานวิจัยเพื่อสนับสนุนการพัฒนา โครงการให้เอกชนร่วมลงทุนก่อสร้างและบริหารจัดการระบบกำจัดขยะมูลฝอยแบบครบวงจร (Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management) จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช โดยมุ่งเปลี่ยน “ขยะมูลฝอยจำนวนมาก” ให้กลายเป็น เชื้อเพลิงขยะ (Refuse Derived Fuel: RDF) เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพด้านพลังงานและลดผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม ตลอดระยะเวลาการดำเนินงาน ทีมวิจัยจากสำนักวิชาฯ มีบทบาทสำคัญในการ จัดทำประชาพิจารณ์และรับฟังความคิดเห็นของประชาชน ลงพื้นที่เก็บข้อมูลด้านเทคนิค สังคม เศรษฐกิจ และสิ่งแวดล้อม วิเคราะห์ต้นทุนและผลตอบแทนของโครงการ จัดทำรายงาน Feasibility Study และสรุปรายงานเสนอ กระทรวงมหาดไทย นำเสนอผลต่อคณะกรรมการจัดการสิ่งปฏิกูลและมูลฝอยจังหวัด เมื่อวันที่ 20 พฤศจิกายน 2568 เวลา 14.00 น. ได้มีพิธีลงนามสัญญาโครงการระหว่าง เทศบาลเมืองปากพนัง และ บริษัท เอ็น 15 เทคโนโลยี จำกัด โดยมี
