Applicants may choose from research-oriented, coursework-and-research, or professional study pathways, subject to the admission requirements of each plan.

PLAN 1.1

Research-Only

Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a GPA of at least 3.00 and research experience.

Alternatively, applicants with a GPA of at least 3.00 and at least 2 years of relevant work experience may be considered.

PLAN 1.2

Coursework + Research

Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a GPA of at least 2.75.

Alternatively, applicants with a GPA of at least 2.00 and research experience or at least 1 year of relevant work experience may be considered.

PLAN 2

Coursework + Independent Study

Bachelor’s degree in any field with a GPA of at least 2.50.

Alternatively, applicants with a GPA of at least 2.00 and relevant coursework or at least 1 year of relevant work experience may be considered.

GRADUATION CRITERIA

To successfully graduate,
students must:

01   Complete all courses required by the selected study plan.
02   Achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00.
03   Meet the foreign language proficiency requirements set by the Graduate School.
04   For Plan 1: successfully propose and defend a thesis in an open examination. The thesis or part of it must be published or accepted for publication according to the Graduate School’s criteria.
05   For Plan 2: pass the written Comprehensive Examination and successfully propose and defend an Independent Study in an open examination.
